US-based Burlington Medical, a leading high-quality and light-weight radiation protection aprons provider, has partnered with fashion tech specialist 3DLOOK in order to provide contactless measuring and fitting experience in radiation protection garments.

The patented body scanning technology of 3DLOOK assists Burlington Medical’s customers to get precise body measurements remotely. All they have to do is send two pictures of theirs and scanning then takes just 30 seconds. This way, tailored apron for each customer is guaranteed to fit on body precisely.

3DLOOK standardises the measuring process for Burlington Medical with its technology and hence it eliminates the need of subjective measurement by hands which causes inconsistency whenever measurer changes.

Terming this as ‘industry’s first’, Murry Pitts, CEO, Burlington Medical, commented, “This cutting-edge digital technology provides more accurate experience, from MTM consistency and the manufacturing of the radiation protection garment. As there is an endless potential in this technology, we are aiming at using the same well beyond the pandemic.”

Additionally, the customers are also able store and access their measurements online for future references and this accessibility streamlines the ordering process in a well-structured way.

Whitney Cathcart, CSO and Co-founder, 3DLOOK, asserted, “We have invested a lot of time working with Burlington Medical team and thinking about the user experience as well as convenience of digital measurements especially needed as COVID hit.” She also added that digital-first mindset of Burlington Medical sets a standard for other apparel companies to embrace digital scanning solutions offered by 3DLOOK.

According to 3DLOOK, the entire development has been made possible due to its collaboration with Gerber Technology’s MTM system, which allows organisations such as Burlington Medical to supplement their in-person fittings, operate digitally and meet a greater customer demand during pandemic times, while being competitive and forward-thinking in the industry at the same time.

Endorsing the need of such digital solution, Karsten Newbury, Chief Strategy and Digital Officer, Gerber Technology, shared, “The integration between AccuMark Made-To-Measure platform and 3DLOOK assists Burlington Medical to develop products meant for the shape and size of their actual customers. Systematically connecting their supply chain and leveraging data gives them the agility and efficiency to compete and win in today’s new reality.”
